In what ways does your dog play with you?

My dog is so funny. I give him those milk-a-bone and then i act like im going to take it from him, well actually some times i do take it and then run. He then runs after me and i give it to him and its a back and forward thing. lol so now when i give him cookies he waits until i try to take it so we can chase each other around. Oh and if i make a growling noise he'll growl at me back (but only when i do it). Oh and if were on the sofa i sometimes pull his ears and his tail just to bug him and then i call his name and he ignores me and turns his head. Its so hilarious!!

I will play chase with my dog, when he wants to play he will steal something of mine, then show it to me, make a low growl sound and take off running. I will chase after him pretending to almost catch him. We will also play tug of war. He does not put too much into but I let him when so he will run around the house all proud of himself. He also loves to bob for things in water. It could be an ice cube ot a ball but for hours he will bob for things in water. It is his true Lab nature. He also loves to play ball and play his favorite game of Lion. That is what I call it. He goes into the fields where the grass is really tall and lies in wait. When you walk by he comes pouncing out and tags, knocks you down then runs back in. He also likes to play any and all water games. He especially like to race for a retriever stick in the water. I throw it and then we both swim out to get it and he knows when he wins. He also loves to monster under the blanket. Anything that moves under a blanket he will attack. LOL that sounds funny, I'd love to watch it! My border and I play agility, but we also play a game similar to yours - I chase him around trying to steal his ball. When I finally get it, I'll 'guard' it - trying to step in his path so that he can't get to it, blocking him. He loves this game! And no, you're not crazy - just having fun!

When she wants to play, she will either drop a toy at my feet or come sit by and me and look at me, wagging her tail.



We play a lot of fetch here, and ';find it'; ( I hide toys or treats and she has to find them ), and I also consider obedience training playing--the dog is having fun!



I'd be careful about how you play that game of yours where you pass treats back and forth. You could be teaching the dog to be grabby.



Please don't pull your dogs ears and tail. When he is turning his head away from you he is telling you (very politely) that he doesn't like this sort of attention. If polite doesn't work, he may well growl at you or snap at you.
ill play fetch with them. sometimes ill get down on the ground and pat the floor the dog will come running up to me and lick my face.the animal shelter dogs are all so funny!! a dog hope will just run in circles!! and katie has this iron grip that is like almost impossible to get toy out of her mouth.

Bogart will lick anypart of skin he can get to and wont stop!
if my dog is gonna go on a walk at some point in the day, sometimes i just mess with him and tell him very early on, the key-wordds ';walk';, ';leash';, ';lets go';, or ';yourcoming'; and he gets sooo excited.

its so cute. he starts running around in circles around the dining table, even though no ones chasing him.

also, a friend and i like playing catch with those small bouncy balls they have at arcades and stuff. sometimes when he sees us doing that, he comes and tries to play too. so of course, my dog has absolutely no sense of hand-eye coordination, and can NEVER take it from us, and so that he doesnt get bored, sometimes we drop the ball to let him have it, and then he refuses to give it to us. so we sit on the floor, and whine, and pretend to surrender, and we go ';ohhh your too good for me'; and stuff like that. eventually he drops it in our hands, which is SOOOO CUUTE!

and then we play it again.

i play fetch with them i run with them i hold her like a baby dance with her like she was a real human i do a lot of things like you too but i pretend to throw her toys and then she runs and finds out i still have it. i do lots of things. i luv my dog. i do a lot of more things like 50 but i type really slow and it would take me like a hour to answer your question. you sound cool and funny
I play fetch, of course, and just run around with him. I luv my dog :)
