I want to teach my dog how to catch a frisbee but it seems like she is distracted.
I try waving the frisbee infront of her face but she does'nt want to play with it.
Some1 please helpHow to get your dog to like a toy?
98% of dogs I've had or worked with could care less about a frisbee. That's just how some dogs are.How to get your dog to like a toy?
Some dogs just don't like frisbees my Golden has never liked them but she is crazy for tennis balls and you can do some tricks with the balls, Try and see if she likes the balls she may also like some of the other catch toys. Like the flying squirrel things.
You can't force her....
Not sure that you can get her interested. Animals, like people, just have preferences for things, people, food. You might have to just go find a new toy for her.
The person above is right i tried the same thing to my dogs and they have no sense in playing. But you can try playing ball or other toys maybe you can bring your dog into like petco and walk him around and see what toy he/she wants.
I tried getting my husky to play frisbee, but he just wasn't into it. I would try a little bit everyday for a week but still with no interest of playing. He loves chasing tennis balls and sticks. Just got to keep trying different things to you find something she likes.
you cant get a dog to like a toy, either they like it or not thats just how they are. so sorry about the frisbee but try another toy like a ball or something, its just the dog but if you just leave it out sometimes they can end up falling for that toy but other than that theres really nothing you can do
Ok Collin he's how to train your dog.
Firstly when it's his / her food time put the Frisbee upside down
and put the food into the Frisbee. Clean everyday when dog has finished eating
or put a plate inside the Frisbee and put the food onto the plate.
That will set up a positive association with the Frisbee
and your dog, do that for at least 5 days without trying to teach it any tricks.
To begin after the 5 day period, clean the Frisbee again and wait till it's food time
and say Frisbee out loud, hold it right way up and wait till the dog starts looking at it
the moment it touches it say ';Good boy / Girl'; and give
the days food the same way as before.'
Do that for a
couple days heaping praise onto the dog
for moving closer towards the Frisbee
and ignore it when it doesn't.
When dog does touches the frizbee again say, good dog, same as before %26amp;
it move it way a bit more each day, rewarding it with a small portion
of the dog's daily normal food supply when it runs over to the Frisbee looking for food
praise dog for every correct or close right behaviour.
Gradually move Frisbee further way and reward with small portion of dog's daily
normal food supply.
Then when your happy try throwing it a little heaping on the praise at the time.
Soon it will catch the Frisbee with
occasional food rewards, but do remember to praise
the dog and feed and water dog and take good care of it.
Best Wishes.
