If these are things she used to do...and now she has no interest in them....she is either sick or depressed. If she is eating well and sleeping as she should....there is not much more you can do. Sorry. How do you know when your dog is depressed?
You should call your vet and ask his or her opinion -- a good vet with whom you have a previous relationship should be willing to tell you over the phone whether they think her condition warrants an office visit to check things over.
It's possible your dog is ill, anything from a minor infection to a life-threatening one can cause ';lethargy'; which is what you seem to be describing, and only a vet will be able to diagnose the cause. Or if you have an older dog, she could be slowing down do to arthritis pain... happily, that's easily treated and your dog can be back to her old energetic self after a visit to the vet for medicine!
There are places out there that treat animal depression, though opinions vary as to how ';legit'; they are. Certainly dogs' behavior often takes a turn for the worse when someone in their human family disappears, whether due to death, divorce or someone going away to school. Some dogs will seem to mourn for another dog they miss, and other things like moving (or even getting a new neighbor) can stress some dogs out more than others. I would rule out physical causes first, though.
It depends on her breed. Some dogs are just lazy and seem to mope around like they are depressed (basset hound is a good example). If she were to lose interest in eating and slept an unusual amount then i would be concerned. But she seems well enough to take two walks a day, it may just be her disposition.
She sounds like my dog, I think he is depressed as he refuses to play and just goes up to my room to sleep all the time and avoids the family. Although when he isn't in our house he is fine and plays happily, odd.
I don't really know what to suggest, maybe just give her more attention and pamper her more.
lethargy and lack of appetite. see a vet to eliminate possible underlying conditions. if she checks out, start going for 1/2 hour walks in the morning and evening. change the channel in her brain with exercise, change of environment and togetherness with you.
I agree with others that there might be an underlying medical condition. If she became 'depressed' ';all-of-a-sudden';, then definitely get her to the vet!
thats a really cute title question. haha.
make her run around abit.
give her some bones.
She might not be depressed but ill. If she seems mopey %26amp; lacking energy, she needs to be checked out by your vet.
maybe your dog is getting old
