The question is pretty self explanitory, I'm just curious if anyone knows specifics, currently there's a one gallon bowl in the kitchen we fill 3 times a day and a soup bowl in a bedroom that gets filled more like 8 times a day because the dogs seem to prefer it. Also, does anyone have one of those doggie fountains and if so do you like it? Do your dogs dig in it or play with it and how easy are they to clean out? Thanks. How many water bowls should a 6 dog household have?
I have four dogs. I have a dog fountain in the back yard (But don't buy a dog fountain. Go the the feed store and buy a horse waterer. Same thing - half the cost), and a water dispenser thing in the house if I have dogs separated. If it's a full open door day, they do fine with just the fountain. I dump and wipe it every other day or so, and they always have fresh cool water.
Good luck! How many water bowls should a 6 dog household have?
if u have big dogs i would suggest you should have 4 water/soup/gallon bowls. have them in different rooms and are easy to get to. if u have small dogs, i guess 4 is fine
This may sound werid but have as many bowls as there are dogs. Dogs are very territorial and forcing them to share and get snappy with each other and with you. If your dogs don't have these problems, then just go with the one that holds the most. ;)
I went to Osh and got a giant washer tub. They have them in the garden section. They are metal and I have one of those outside and two large water dishes in the house...I only have to big slobbery dogs though. It's easier and they get the water they need- I change the washer tub like everyday. Works great. They like to blow bubbles in it and I don't get tired of filling their dish because they can't stick their big feet in and tipp it over:)
i depends how often u want to re-fill it
there should be one large bowl per dog.
these need to be kept filled, and water changed regularly everyday.
Have six bowls. If they all get thristy then they all can have water
i have three dogs and we have 9 bowls of water through out the house for the dogs that are always full but also i live in a 6,ooo sq ft house the most important thing is they can always drink if they are thirsty
I have five dogs, big ones, and normally we have two buckets, that hold like a gallon each for them and we have to refill them once or twice a day, but we also let our dogs get water from the toilets. During the summer we add a big bucket to it and they do fine.
So we essentially have five to six through out the year. So I would recommend six to seven good sized bowls/buckets.
You should be able to work this out - if you find empty water bowls that means there is not enough for your dogs. Their bowls should never get the chance to be empty, you should be throwing some away and changing it regularly.
