How do you stop your dog from biting?

My 12 week old tea cup poodle won't stop trying to bite us. What can we do to stop him from biting, we have differant types of toys for him to play with. Also how many times a day should they be eating. And is there any helpful hints on how to train them in peeing and pooping outside? I'll take him out for half an hour and as soon as we come in the house he pee's or poops? How do you stop your dog from biting?
Your puppy is still a baby. Not only is that how he learns about his environment, he's also teething. He will continue this habit until about 7-8 months when all his adult teeth are in.

What you do about it: You have toys, use them. When he goes to chew on your fingers, replace them with a chew toy! Be consistent, he'll figure it out. Also keep things that you don't want chewed up, off the floor and out of his reach until he's older, this includes shoes, underwear, your toys, paper, anything you value, or don't want to pick up in little bitty pieces. There is never any excuse to hit/smack/thump or otherwise inflict pain on such a small pup. They are delicate, and all this does is induce fear, not what you want from your new best friend. When he goes to chew on something inappropriate, tell him No! Take whatever it is away, and distract him with something he can have or do.

As for peeing and pooing, set meal times help greatly with this. He should have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this age. What goes in, soon comes out. Water should be left available throughout the day, until 7 pm at the latest. He'll need to potty first thing when he wakes up in hte morning, and right after every nap. He'll need to poo about 20 min or so after each meal. Crate training can be a wonder you should research this. At this age, he is too small to hold it all night, and will need to be taken midway thru at least. Perhaps twice during hte night.

gently hit it on the noes and say 'no!' when he is iting somebody!
Take him out 10 minutes after eating-and when he bites put his paw in his mouth-he won't like it. And never hit him-if he's bad rub his nose-they don't like it. -Don't listen to the comment the other person said about hitting him on the nose-it will cause aggression and the dog can become mean
break his teath!
bite him back, my dog never bit again
people with little dogs usually dont punish them as much as larger dogs. you have to punish them the same way.

so when ever he is doing something wrong, act tough and make sounds like ';sh!'; and straighten your index and middle finger, threatening to hit him.
He's probably teething. He wont stop until his baby teeth come off, and may continue afterward unless you train him. I have a 8 month old puppy yet she still bites, it's her way of playing, she already went through her teething stage at around your dog's age.
NEGATIVE reinforcement. I used to tap my dogs behind, but I'm sure people on here will say that is animal cruelty.
I don't have biting dogs, so I can't tell you how to stop that, but I do own Pembroke Welsh Corgis, which have a tendancy to ';nip';. They don't do it to hurt anyone or because they are malicious, it's just a herding instinct to get cattle (or whatever the animal may be) to move along. As I walk, I have 3 of them, and they try to lightly nip at my heels or grab onto my pant legs as they walk behind me, I just turn around and give them a sharp ';NO!'; They stop immediately. The nipping can be trained out of my dogs, but if a dog is biting out of aggression (which I don't really see with a 12 weeks old puppy), that's a different story, maybe try the Ceasar Milan website, he deals with animals like that all the time, and he might have some insight on what to do. Just try a sharp ';NO'; and maybe a light tap on the nose along with a NO, if the ';NO'; doesn't work by itself..
what you need to do is put your hand in a fist and let him bite soon he will get annoyed because your fist is so huge he will learn not to it worked on my westie and corgi
My dog used to be a fighting pitbull and he obviously had a biting problem. When he was more rehabilitated, we started on the biting. Every time he tried to bite, we would yell NO and then make him sit. Then for about five minutes we would open his lips, touch his teeth and eventually stick our fingers and hands in his mouth, just to where our hands touched the corners of his mouth. DON'T DO THIS WITH A DANGEROUS DOG. WE GOT HELP FROM A PROFESSIONAL TO DO THIS.

After a year of this as well as good training, we trust him around my sis's 3 year old and 13 mo old twins. They play with him, often touching his food while he is eating or sticking their hands in his mouth and ears. HE HAS NEVER BITTEN ANYONE SINCE HIS REHABILITATION.

WE HAVE NEVER HIT HIM
