When is right time to let your 2 dogs to play with each other?

2 year old bichon, and 2.5 months old King Charles.

Bichon is twice his size? I see them play before...not sure if its playing but....from a room i See my puppy chasing the big dog and biting her(puppy teeth are damn sharp) and then otherway round my bichon chasing my puppy and jumping on it.So is that ok ? I know my bichon wont bite him but he keeps jumping on him, and my pupppy cavalier pulls her skin a lot when he bites and her ears, So far noone has cried. but is it too early for them to play? I am so worried and i feel like I have to keep an eye on them 24/7 when they are together.Never had 2 dogs before so I dont know how dogs play with each otherWhen is right time to let your 2 dogs to play with each other?
Please don鈥檛 expect your dog to cope with an unruly puppy and to baby-sit twenty four hours a day. Supervise them for SHORT play sessions in the garden and if the puppy is over exuberant, allow your dog to chastise it, then put your puppy in its own room to rest. Don鈥檛 expect your dog to want to sleep with your puppy or to play with it constantly.

Your puppy will possibly need about four meals a day. Divide your other dog rations into four and feed it (or them) when you feed your puppy. Give your existing dog extra attention when the puppy is resting and make him feels special.

There will be visitors, who want to see your puppy. When the doorbells rings, put your puppy into another room and tell your visitors to fuss your adult dog or dogs and give them treats BEFORE they make a fuss of the puppy.

Older dogs love puppies, with the proviso that YOU stop the puppy from being a pain in the bum. They don鈥檛 want a puppy being thrust upon them all of the time. If you do this any dog will object and be confused. When is right time to let your 2 dogs to play with each other?
Yes it's fine for them to play but there will be tears! Older dog will tolerate bad behaviour from pup till about 4-5 months: then any pup nonsense will start to be met with hard nips from older dog, to teach youngster his place. Pup will soon get the painful message(with pitiful yelps) and start to behave better toward the older dog. Unlikely to see any blood. It's the doggy way.
that should be fine.
i'm pretty sure they'll be fine.

its not like you have a chihuahua and a great dane trying to play together.

they need to play since they will be living together, they need to be able to know each other well and be friends.
that's how dogs play but if the the big dog makes the other dog bleed then don't let them get near each other
