My dog is pretty stubborn whenever i throw the toy,he just bites it and tries to walk away with it. I try to use treats but then he sensed that i have treats and try to get it from my hand.....IM A BAD DOG OWNER!!!!!!!!!!How do you teach your dog how to play fetch?
LOL - some dogs just don't like to play fetch. I throw the ball once for our mal, she brings it back. I throw it again and she looks at me like, ';Didn't we just do this?';. I throw it a third time and the look is clear. ';I brought the darn thing back to you twice, and you keep throwing it. If you want it, go get it yourself.';
Good luck!How do you teach your dog how to play fetch?
Chill your not a bad dog owner, some dogs just dont like to play fetch. I dont know what kind of dog you own, but maybe try taking him/her to a dog park where it can see other dogs playing. Or play a game like catch with another person and let your dog see how fun it is. Good luck
You're not a bad dog owner. If there's anything I've learned from having many dogs over the years is, some dogs fetch, and some don't. I've never had to teach the ones that do, and I've failed in teaching the ones that don't. Really it depends on the breed. Don't beat yourself up.
Ok well you throw a bone or a stick or something well this answer will only help if they chase it ok well they chase it you call for them with like a treat in your hand and they will come and yeah you give them the treat and do it over and over then they will get it and they think they will get a treat this one time you do it but they dont you say good girl or good boy and throw it and there.
It helps if you teach your dog to
Sit
Come
Heal
Release/drop it
Throw the toy, then ask it to come back, show him the treat, tell him to sit then release. If he does this prais him with the treat. If he doesnt come, go to him and take the toy, as he folloews say come. If he tryes to take the treat take the toy throw it and if he dont let him have it until he does it right. And if he still doesnt after about 3-4 times ignor him for a bit, no contact what so ever, dont even talk to him. Eventualy he will understand
Hope I helped :)
