My dog is not very playful. Say if we take him to the dog park he wouldn't want to play with the other dogs, he will just sniff the perimeter of the park. Even if im trying to play with him he won't do much.How do you get your dog more playful?
They are or they aren't ... Some dogs have no drive, and don't play much. Depends on what a dog was bred to do too... a dog bred to sniff, is going to spend his time sniffing..How do you get your dog more playful?

How old is your dog? I would say he might just be caught up in all the new and exciting smells. Sometimes smells can get pretty exciting to dogs! To get him more interested in playing, try different toys or just start running with him. Most dogs love to run and if they see you having fun that might want to just join in.
If that doesn't work, you might want to look into changing his diet. You vet will be able to tell if your dog is missing something in his diet. Hope that helps.
teach him to play catch it can be with a ball or a teddy bear my dog love his little teddy bears.all you have to is touch his nose every time with the toy and throw it[say go get it boy]and when he bring it back pharse him]do this like every day until he know this is fun.
some dogs are just like that- they are not playful. if your doggy is this way and has been all his life- there is not much you can do.
he might just be too oold to run around anymore
well he might just be a laid back kinda dog...i would teach him at home. sit with him and teach him how to play
