How often do you walk your dog?

I am just interested. My dog has only just started to like walking and I was wondering how many times a week people usually walk their dogs.



I play with her in the back yard several times a day to make her run (before anyone makes any nasty comments about giving exercise).



I'm not going to judge and would love honest answers.



Also could you state if you live in an apartment or don't have a yard.

i try everyday, because it is an excuse for exercise for me. i always do it at LEAST once a week. but usually it is everyday. I actually lost 5 lbs by walking my dogs one mile everyday in less than a month! i am only 16
i try to walk my dog everyday, if i miss a day he normally gets walked about 5 times a week!


I live in an apartment, but last year I lived on a quarter acre house with yard and the schedule has not changed. The dogs are walked 3 times a day. They need exercise outside of their environment. It doesn't matter if you live in an apartment or on an acre, dogs need to go for walks, daily.
Since moving into our flat we've had to walk our dog about five times a day - she's a working bred dog, and has a lot of energy. (You can tell when she needs a walk because she gets so annoying! Following you around and jumping on the hoover and that, taking her for a walk is the easiest option!)



On the farm we used to just open the back door and she'd entertain herself running after rabbits and that.... we'll go back there soon, just that a flat is a temporary thing while my boyfriends at uni.
I have a 14 lb beagle terrier mix. I live in an end unit town house and have the whole side yard the length of my house and the back fenced in. He goes out to do his business and we run around but we walk everyday in the nice weather about 1-3 miles a day. In crappy weather, we TRY to get out but sometimes we don't make it out for a few days. He hates the cold so I don't force him but will put a fleece on him and let him out to run and play with him in the yard.

I have to laugh. You've been on here a while I guess cause you know how miserable some people can be. I'd just make sure you try to get her out for a walk once a day or twice if you are ambitious but in yucky weather, it can wait.
depending what type of dog it is and how old it is makes alot of difference. but most dogs should be walked once a day.
I try and do it every day. That is on top of games of frisbee, fetch with a tennis ball and agility groundwork.



Oh, yes. I have a fenced in backyard.
