I've heard fly ball is a great sport for dogs. My puppy already loves fetching; she literally taught herself.
Our pup, a nine week old female Siberian husky mix, needs some energy burning and socialization besides her daily walk and rare play with the neighbor's puppy.
Skylar is going to start her Petsmart obedience classes next week. How can I get into contact with another owner who does fly ball with their dog? Have you and your dog played this dog sport or do you know a friend who does it? How'd they find a local team and get started? How Might I Go About Getting Our Puppy Involved in Fly ball? ?
It is a great sport for dogs, but the operative word in that sentences is ';dogs';. Your puppy is too young to jump, and needs to be at least one year old before you start training her to jump regularly. Until that time, obedience is a FANTASTIC thing to do with your dog, and will only help when you start doing flyball when she is old enough.
To find a club to train with, ask at local pet stores, your vet's office, a kennel %26amp; obedience club if your area has one, etc. How Might I Go About Getting Our Puppy Involved in Fly ball? ?
depends on how doggie friendly your city is, they might already have a fly ball class for dogs. Dog cities like yorba linda, Huntington Beach, Santa Monica, Pasadena...all in So Ca have city classes for dog. Check your city class booklet (should be in your city hall) and you might find a fido friend class for around the same as what Petsmart charges.
