I don't understand why people actually care if this dude plays football or not. My life did not change when he signed with the Eagles, why do you people care. Its not like the Eagles are forcing you to have him walk your dog, he's just playing football. People need to chill out and live life. There are many felons working at grocery stores and department stores and I don't see the outrage there. I heard of people crying when they signed him, what kind of foolishness is that. People are so dumb to intertwine their personal life into football like that. How does Vick playing football impact your personal life?
No...While what he did was morally wrong, he did his ';crimes'; with his own property. Yes...Property. Those dogs were bought by him and used in the way he saw fit. While I don't agree with it...it is even more disturbing to see the government decide what an individual person does with his legally owned property. PETA wackjobs love to try force their veiws on everyone else. How does Vick playing football impact your personal life?
i completely agree...the man paid his dues, so he should play...
Just another vile criminal punk in an NFL uniform. doesn't' affect me one bit.
It still doesn't stop me from thinking of him as a monster and all round jackazz.
I have no problem with it at all. I mean, if he did anything to my dog I'd be pi**sed, but he didn't!
When I first heard that he was dogfighting the only thing that went through my mind was ';dumb*ss';. Not because I felt dogfighting was wrong but because I couldn't understand how a person with such a wonderful life was doing something so stupid.
To all the people out there planning on boycotting the NFL...you need to get a life.
Uhh Paul, thats not the same situation. What Vick went to jail for had NOTHING to do with his job but Madoff going to jail had EVERYTHING to do with his job.
How would you feel if Bernie Madoff got released and made the CEO of JP Morgan Chase?
The point about guilty and convicted felons is not that they are able to work again, it's that they are never trusted to be high profile members of society and they CERTAINLY don't get their old jobs back. You mention felons working in grocery stores. I guarantee you that immediately post release they are not handling cash or being asked to occupy positions of responsibility or leadership.
As such, I believe Vick should be bagging groceries too. He certainly shouldn't be rewarded with $5.6 million dollars after practising his contrition speach for 2 years. Don't let anyone fool you. He's not sorry. If he was sorry he would have stopped, he didn't, he got caught and then lied to everyone about it.
Edit: I'm Just Me - my point is that convicted felons don't get their old jobs back. Period. They just don't. It's part of their punishment. Think Phil Spector will ever produce records again? Think OJ's coming back to Monday Night Foortball or movies? D'ya think the guy who played Beretta will be playing lead in a detective series any time soon?
Oh and Lucy - He made a ';mistake';? It's as simple as that to you? If it was a simple mistake he must only have done it once, right? He certainly wouldn't have lied about it later, right? Certainly not to his boss, or the commissioner of his league, or the press, or to a judge in court under oath, right? Please.
He made a mistake.... like we all due!
For those of you who are Mistake free..... cast the first stone!
Get over it!
It did not impact my life one bit. I never seen these protesters go to Watts or Compton or South Central Los Angeles where I seen dogs being abused and fighting all the time. But let one well known person do this and they come out in the suburbs. If you really want to take a stand come to the Ghettos of America or go to Mexico in Tijuana and Mexicali I seen dogs starved fighting to eat the other dog. Dogs will naturally fight . Chill out on this one person.
